Warren to attend Innovation Lab in Japan
David Warren, associate professor of art at Henderson State University, is one of six international printmakers chosen to attend an artist-in-residence program at the Mokuhanga Innovation Lab in Japan.
“This is a very prestigious honor,” said Katherine Strause, chair and professor of art at Henderson. “Only six applicants are chosen annually from hundreds around the world.”
Founded in 2011, the Mokuhanga Innovation Lab is designed to provide extensive knowledge of mokuhanga (water-based woodblock printmaking) and its techniques to international artists, printmakers, and teachers of printmaking. The lab also enables the artists to make use of traditional tools and materials.
