UAMS honors HSU alum Dr. Richard Jacobs

Richard F. Jacobs, M.D., an Arkadelphia native and a 1973 Henderson State University graduate, was honored by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) as the 2016 College of Medicine Distinguished Alumnus.

Jacobs, a 1977 UAMS alumnus and member of the faculty for 34 years, was honored at the college’s annual Dean’s Honor Day ceremony April 19. The professor and chair of the UAMS Department of Pediatrics is also a national leader in pediatrics. He is president-elect of the Association of Medical School Department Chairs and is past president of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society.

Henderson honored Jacobs as a Distinguished Alumnus in 2003.
