Suicide prevention program Feb. 9

May 17, 2017 by Steve Fellers

Suicide prevention program Feb. 9

Josh Rivedal, a nationally recognized speaker whose life was affected by suicide, will appear at Henderson State University Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. in the Garrison Center Lecture Hall. Rivedal’s presentation will emphasize the severity of depression and the importance of seeking help.

“Depression is a common problem that interferes with students’ ability to enjoy their lives and be productive in their work,” Rivedal said. “Depression can affect anyone, even you or someone you know.”

Rivedal’s presentation, sponsored by Henderson’s Student Health and Counseling Center, is free and open to the public.

“We invite everyone to come learn the signs from someone who has experienced depression, contemplated suicide, and sought help to overcome his illness,” said Willica Morgan, a counselor at the center.
