Student art competition winners announced

Houston Fryer of Hot Springs was awarded Best of Show for his oil on canvas painting in the 2015 Student Competitive Art Exhibition at Henderson State University.
Sean McGrath of Mundelein, Ill., received first runner-up honors for his clay vase, and Claire Cade of McRae was awarded second runner-up for her reduction linocut. The Peer Choice Award went to Hailey Nunley of Nashville for her digital painting. Natasha Cribbs of Murfreesboro and Barrazza Loyd of Bryant were awarded honorable mention.
The selected pieces and other entries will be on display in the Russell Fine Arts Center gallery weekdays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. through May 1.
