Schroeder, Jones in concert Aug. 28
Dr. Phillip Schroeder, professor of music at Henderson State University, and violinist Margaret Jones will perform three works recently composed by Schroeder at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28 in the Russell Fine Arts Center recital hall.
Schroeder has appeared as a guest composer, lecturer and performer throughout the United States and Europe. He has composed music for soloists, chamber ensembles, live electronics, band, orchestras and choir. Schroeder’s music appears on several record labels.
Jones has enjoyed a diverse career as a concert violinist. She was a founding member of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, and later performed with the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra. She has worked on Broadway and toured with The Lion King, Andy Williams, Perry Como and Natalie Cole.
The concert is free and open to the public. A reception will follow.
