May 17, 2017 by Steve Fellers

Saxophone quartet to perform March 9

The award-winning Mana Saxophone Quartet will perform at 7:30 p.m. March 9 at Henderson State University. The program, which includes quartets by Stephen Dankner, Jean-Baptiste Singelee, and J.S. Bach, showcases the diversity of the group’s vintage sound.

The free concert will be in Henderson’s Russell Fine Arts recital hall.

Hailed as “saxophone ambassadors” by Chamber Music Magazine, the Mana Quartet provides its international audience with exciting and innovative presentations of classical music. After winning the National MTNA Chamber Music Competition, the group became the first saxophone quartet in history to receive the coveted grand prize at the Coleman International Chamber Ensemble Competition.
