Picking joins Henderson’s McNair staff
Margaret Ann Picking has joined Henderson State University as the Ronald E. McNair Program’s scholar coordinator.
Picking will work with low-income, first-generation college students to prepare eligible McNair participants for doctoral students through involvement in research and other scholarly activity. She is responsible for the daily academic and social activities of the McNair program.
Most recently, Picking served as dean of student development and success and dean of women at Champion College in Hot Springs. She was vice president for student services at National Park Community College from 2001-2015.
Picking earned her undergraduate degree in psychology and communications from Fort Hays State University in 1981, and her master’s degree in counseling education in 1989 from Fort Hays State. She did post graduate studies in adult and continuing education at Kansas State University in 1994.
