Opera Workshop performance Dec. 4 and 5
The Opera Workshop class at Henderson State University will perform a variety of songs and ensembles at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5 in the Arkansas Hall Studio Theatre.
“If you’re looking for something new and out of the ordinary to do this weekend, please consider attending one of the Opera Workshop’s performances of the songs of Kurt Weill, the composer of unique cabaret and Broadway music from the 1930s and 40s,” said Dr. William Higgins, professor of voice and chair of the music department at Henderson.
“This wonderful composer of Mack the Knife wrote popular and theatrical music in Germany before immigrating to the United States where he became the toast of Broadway during its ‘golden age.’”
Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children. Henderson students with IDs can attend for free. Call the HSU Box Office at 870-230-5291 or email higginb@hsu.edu to reserve tickets.
