Three Henderson State University nursing students won an Undergraduate Outstanding Oncology Research Award at the Arkansas Nursing Research Conference in April. The poster, created by juniors Sarah Medellin of Katy, Texas, Alexandria Williams of Jacksonville, and Kaitlin Hood of Hot Springs, displayed their research on the effectiveness of annual mammographic screening in women over 40 compared to the standard screenings every three years that most clinical guidelines advertise.
The conference is sponsored by the UAMS College of Nursing.
