Miller named new business school dean
Henderson State University is pleased to welcome Dr. Marc Miller of Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia, as its new dean of the School of Business.
Miller is currently executive director of economic development and Professor of Technology Management in the Hull College of Business at Augusta. He will move to Arkadelphia this summer and will join the School of Business full-time in July 2016.
Joining Henderson State is a unique opportunity for him, Miller said, one he has been preparing for his entire career.
“The fact that Henderson State is a COPLAC (Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges) school was a great attractor,” he added. “I appreciate the high level of rigor for students and expectation for faculty and staff. The university provides a strong educational background for students and prepares them to be successes in their careers and communities and delivers this education at a great value for parents.”
The Reddie mission and vision are consistent with his earlier career, Miller said, which includes time as dean of the College of Business at Augusta and professor and chair of the Department of Management and Business Systems at State University of West Georgia.
“Dr. Miller will be a wonderful asset to the School of Business and our university,” said Henderson State President Glen Jones. “His enthusiasm for preparing students well to make contributions to their careers, companies and communities echoes our own faculty members’ dedication to student success and achievement.”
Miller graduated from Augusta College with his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration and is currently enrolled at Augusta University in the Master of Public Health program. He received his doctorate in information Systems management from Auburn University.
