Thirteen Henderson State University students got a taste of graduate school, and more, while participating in the McNair Summer Research Internship (SRI) in May.
Each summer, the newly-selected scholars participate in an intense internship program during which they begin individual research projects. Students attended various workshops, including a library scavenger hunt, on the research process. By summer’s end, with the guidance of a faculty mentor, they will have a presentable research proposal.
In addition to the research portion of the SRI, these scholars attended workshops on business interpersonal skills, and professional etiquette, which culminated in a Mock-tail reception and a luncheon.
The goal of Henderson State University’s McNair Scholars Program is to prepare program participants for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities.
