MBA program now fully online

MBA program now fully online

As online college classes become more popular and prevalent, Henderson State University is meeting the demand from business professionals through its Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.

The two-year MBA program is now fully online, said Dr. Lonnie Jackson, MBA director. It provides a flexible schedule for professionals and they are not limited by their proximity to campus.

“Many of our students are taking advantage of the online MBA courses,” Jackson said. “Some students combine online offerings with face-to-face classes. I expect online enrollment will continue to grow.”

The MBA is a popular program preparing and positioning executives for leadership and management positions in business, government, healthcare, and numerous other industries. Henderson’s MBA is fully accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

The 30-hour program consists of several general business courses providing students with the broad knowledge needed to be successful in a business career. In addition, advisors work with each student to find the electives that best compliment and prepare students for specific professions.

“We have graduates who work in a variety of industries, such as partners in accounting firms and business ownership,” Jackson said. “I believe we have a high quality program that is recognized and respected throughout the region.”

Henderson’s MBA program is affordable, and students can complete the program within one calendar year. The course schedule is flexible to allow students to enroll on a full-time or part-time basis. They may start the program in the fall, spring, or summer semesters, and it’s possible to complete the program by taking only evening and late afternoon classes.

The School of Business also offers graduate courses in Hot Springs. Through a rotation system with courses in Arkadelphia, Hot Springs, and online, students can complete the requirements for the MBA degree on a part-time basis in just two years. Most of these courses are offered in the evening.

“We have an outstanding, diverse group of faculty who are recognized for their teaching abilities and research in their respective fields,” Jackson said. “The core group of MBA faculty have all obtained a Ph.D. in their areas of expertise.”

Jackson said one goal of the MBA program is application of classroom material to scenarios in the business environment.

“Our students have the opportunity to demonstrate mastery of classroom material by participating consulting projects with local and regional businesses,” he said.
