Henderson State University Theatre will present five performances of Tigers Be Still, by Kim Rosenstock. Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 22, 23, 24, & 26 and at 2:30 pm on Feb. 25 in the Arkansas Hall Studio Theatre. A reception will follow the opening night performance.
In this comedy, Sherry, a young woman with a newly earned master’s degree in art therapy, finds herself moving back home. Unemployed and overwhelmed, she retreats to her childhood bed and remains there until an unexpected employment opportunity gives her a renewed sense of purpose and hope. With help from her recently dumped alcoholic sister, her boss, an escaped tiger, and a patient with anger management issues, Sherry struggles to get her life back on track.
The cast includes: JL Cason of Prescott; Brandon Curtis of West Memphis; Madi Moore of Newport Beach, California; and Savannah Reynolds of Monticello.
The play is under the direction of William G. Henshaw, professor of theatre. Sound and graphic design are by Claudia A. Beach, director of theatre. Student designers include: Jennings Johnson of Heber Springs, scenery; Nicholas Bius of Benton, lighting; and Tyler Felton of Batesville, costumes and makeup. The stage manager is Magee-Lee Preston of The Colony, Texas.
The HSU Theatre Box Office in Arkansas Hall will be open for advance ticket sales from 1-4 p.m. beginning Monday, Feb. 19. All seats are reserved. Admission is $10, or free with an HSU student ID, courtesy of the Student Activities Board.
