HSU Theatre to perform Shakespeare’s ‘Love’s Labour’s Lost’
Henderson State University Theatre will present seven performances of William Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost on April 9, 10, 11, 13, 16, 17, and 18. All performances are at 7:30 p.m. A reception will follow the opening night performance.
The King of Navarre and his three best friends swear off love for three years to focus on their studies. The ink on their proclamation is barely dry when the Princess of France and her three attendant ladies arrive to put them to the test. The resulting game of love and intrigue has never been so entertaining.
The ensemble cast includes: Anna Brantley of White Hall; Georgeann Burbank of Benton; Matthew Burnett of Prattsville; Justin Cox of the greater Memphis area; Damien Freeman of Sheridan; LaDarius Jamerson of Fort Smith; Ethan Jones of Texarkana; Dakota Mansfield of Benton; Anthony McBride of Benton; Emily E. McDow of New Orleans; Mauro Palmerin-Segura of Benton; Benjamin C. Perry of North Little Rock; Jordan Sereal of Jacksonville; Skyler Shankles of Bismarck; Kenny Taggard of Arkadelphia; Shaina Tippitt of East End; and Bethany Weed of Clarksville.
The play is under the direction of Dr. Claudia A. Beach, professor of theatre arts. Scenery and lighting are designed by Doug Gilpin, professor of theatre arts, with costumes and makeup by William Henshaw, professor of theatre arts. Zachery Ingersoll of Jacksonville is designing sound. Stage manager is Stacey Johnson of Little Rock.
