
Henderson State University honored faculty members for their years of service at a ceremony April 19 in the Garrison Center Banquet Room.
Five faculty were recognized for 30 years of service, including: Doug Gilpin, professor of theatre arts; Janice O’Donnell, assistant professor of chemistry and director of Henderson Seminar; Jimmie Harper, associate professor of computer science; Lea Ann Alexander, director of library/associate librarian; William Martin, professor of political science.
Honored for 25 years were: Richard Miller, assistant professor of aviation; Michael Lloyd, professor of mathematics; and Gary Smithey, professor of AIS and coordinator of MSE in AIS.
Rick McDaniel, professor and chair of the Department of Physics, was recognized for 20 years.
Honored for 15 years were: Anna Smith, assistant professor of biology; Larry Monette, associate professor of political science and chair of social sciences; Paul Williamson, professor of psychology; Renae Clark, associate professor of business information systems; and Troy Hogue, instructor and director of aviation.
Ten-year honorees were: Allison Vetter, associate professor of sociology and Title IX coordinator; Elizabeth Wyatt, associate professor of reading; Carolyn Jester, assistant professor of special education; Charity Dawson, assistant professor of nursing; Dana Horn, assistant professor of family & consumer sciences; David Sesser, assistant librarian; David Warren, associate professor of art; Debra Coventry, professor of mathematics; Greg Gibson, assistant professor of English; May Tsao-Lim, professor of music; Nathan Campbell, associate dean/associate professor of management; Patricia Loy, assistant professor of nursing; Peggy Woodall, associate professor of special education; Penny Whelchel, assistant professor FCS/director of dietetics specialization; Rochelle Moss, associate professor of counselor education; Shannon Clardy, associate professor of physics; Tommy Finley, associate professor of biology; and Vernon Miles, professor of English.
Honored for five years were: Dever Norman, assistant professor of physics; Glenda Hyer, assistant professor of special education; John Thomasson, assistant professor of physical education and health; Matthew Gross, assistant professor of political science; Shaun Popp, assistant director of bands.
Michael Watters was recognized for his retirement after 22 years of service in the School of Business.
