HSU grad student wins Milken Educator Award

A Henderson State University graduate student has been named the 2015 Arkansas winner of the Milken Educator Award.

Carman McBride, an environmental and spatial technology facilitator for grades 3-5 at Roberts Elementary School in Little Rock, received an unrestricted $25,000 prize for the honor.

McBride is currently working on her master’s degree in education at Henderson. She earned her bachelor of science in elementary education degree from Texas A&M University-Texarkana.

The Milken Educator Awards program rewards and inspires excellence in education by honoring top educators around the country. The awards target early-to-mid career education professionals for their already impressive achievements and for the promise of what they will accomplish in the future.
