Henderson to host dance project Jan. 26-28

Henderson State University will host the Amy Bramlett Dance Project Jan. 26-28. Bramlett will teach dance master classes in the Arkansas Hall Dance Studio from 3-4:15 Jan. 26 and 1:30-2:45 on Jan. 28. The classes are free and open to the public.

Rehearsals with the Henderson Dance Company will be 4:30-8:30 p.m. Jan. 26, 27, and 28. The rehearsals are open to the public for observation.

Bramlett completed her degree in ballet and modern dance as a Nordan Fine Arts Scholar at Texas Christian University in 2011. She has performed and studied throughout the world with international dancers and choreographers.

Bramlett was featured as a soloist in modern, contemporary, and classical ballets in works choreographed by Robert Battle, Li-Chou Cheng, Susan Douglas Roberts, Elizabeth Gillaspy, and many others. She has studied physical theatre in the United Kingdom, interned with the Radio City Music Hall Rockettes, toured and performed with Young! Tanzsommer in Europe, and was a Vegas week finalist in Season 8 of the Fox Network’s So You Think You Can Dance.

Most recently, Bramlett worked as a teaching artist with Arkansas Learning through the Arts and Garland County Library, and performed with the Muses Creative Project.

Bramlett is the resident dance teacher for Hot Springs middle and high schools, and an Artist in Education on the roster for the Arkansas Arts Council.

For more information, contact Jennifer Maddox, artist in residence for dance at Henderson, at maddoxj@hsu.edu. The project is made possible by the Ellis College Margin of Excellence, HSU Theatre and Dance, and the Arkansas Arts Council AIE Arts for Lifelong Learning.
