Henderson has a ‘romantic getaway’
Henderson State University is home to one of Arkansas’s “Best Romantic (Weekend) Getaways,” according to The Crazy Tourist website.
The Captain Henderson House bed & breakfast “boasts the charm of an intimate Victorian-era home.”
Containing what may be the best collection of interior wooden fretwork in the state, the 9,000-square-foot mansion is included on the National Register of Historic Places. It briefly served as a museum for Henderson before it was converted to a bed & breakfast.
“Arkansas might not be the first destination to come to mind when you’re searching for romantic getaways to take with your special someone, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a richness to be discovered among the state’s rolling hills and down-home hospitality,” according to The Crazy Tourist.
“In comparison to neighbors Texas, Louisiana, and Tennessee, many tourists pass by this charming state, keeping it cozy and quiet for the visitors who know where to look.”
