Hamilton receives scholarship for event

Nikol Hamilton, lecturer of nursing at Henderson State University, has received a scholarship to attend the Call on Congress this month in Washington D.C. as a representative of Fight Colorectal Cancer. She is the first Arkansas advocate to receive the scholarship. Only 3-5 scholarships are awarded annually across the nation.

Hamilton serves as the local event manager for the Get Your Rear in Gear – Little Rock 5K Race, the Fight Colorectal Cancer Lead Advocate, and the Colon Cancer Alliance Buddy Volunteer/Never Too Young Campaign’s speaker’s bureau.

Call-on Congress is an annual event where colon and rectal cancer survivors, caregivers and loved ones from all over the U.S. unite to make their voices heard through an advocacy day in Washington.
