Donations will support arts programs
Henderson State University has partnered with the Arkansas Community Foundation for ArkansasGives, a one-day giving event on April 6 where gifts to Henderson will support the university’s fine and performing arts programs.
ArkansasGives provides the opportunity for Arkansans to give to the charities of their choice. Each donation will also help participating nonprofit organizations qualify for additional bonus dollars from the Arkansas Community Foundation.
The Morris Foundation has challenged Henderson State to raise $5,000 and will provide a dollar-for-dollar match. Clark County charities also receive additional bonus dollars from the Ross Foundation.
“Henderson State is excited to be a part of ArkansasGives on April 6, and we are thrilled that the Morris Foundation and Ross Foundation will help us maximize the gifts we receive that day in support of the arts,” said Jennifer Boyett, vice president for university advancement. “We have incredibly talented students and the best fine and performing arts programs in the state. We encourage all of our alumni and friends to join us in making a gift to Henderson State on this special day.”
Donations can be made to Henderson by visiting arkansasgives.org between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. on April 6. Select “Henderson State University Foundation” from the nonprofit search. The minimum gift amount is $25.
Henderson will host a Celebration of the Arts event on June 1 at Wildwood Park for the Arts in Little Rock. The free public event will showcase the university’s talented students in the areas of art, dance, music and theatre.
For those who prefer not to give online, donations can be made payable to “HSU Foundation” and mailed to HSU Box 7550, Arkadelphia, AR, 71999-0001. Contact Beth Taggard at 870-230-5344 or taggare@hsu.edu for more information.
