The Arkansas Political Science Association is organizing a panel based on a book written by Dr. Haroon Khan, professor of political science and public administration at Henderson State. The

Khan said his book, The Idea of Good Governance and the Politics of the Global South: An Analysis of its Effects, “helps further our understanding of the importance of bureaucratic capacity for achieving good governance and offers a new paradigm for a merit system to improve governance.”

Khan investigates the relationship between good governance and failed states, globalization, bureaucratic effectiveness, and human development.

The panel will discuss the book at a conference in Monticello Feb. 26-27.
