Claar to give conference keynote
Dr. Victor V. Claar, professor of economics at Henderson State University, will give the closing keynote address at the Intercollegiate Studies Institute’s Colorado Leadership Conference Aug. 12-14 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Claar will talk about the conference’s theme, “Economics and the Pursuit of Happiness.”
The event will draw more than 50 student leaders who will have the opportunity to participate in breakout discussions, learn from top scholars, and develop lifelong connections.
Claar specializes in teaching introductory courses in economics. He also serves on both the graduate faculty and the faculty of the Honors College at Henderson. He recently served as a Fulbright Scholar at the American University of Armenia, where he conducted research and gave lectures to graduate students in both management and political science.
Claar’s book, Economics in Christian Perspective: Theory, Policy and Life Choices, is now in its ninth printing and was recently translated into Chinese for publication and sale in Taiwan.
He also wrote Fair Trade? Its Prospects as a Poverty Solution.
