ASBTDC to host Power Conference for women Sept. 13
The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center at Henderson State University will host an event Sept. 13 designed to educate and inspire female entrepreneurs and business professionals.
The Power Conference will feature a series of lectures presented by professional women from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. in Henderson’s Garrison Center Banquet Room. Sponsored by Clark County, Arkansas, the event is open to the public and registrants may attend for free. Lunch will be provided.
Following an introduction by Henderson ASBTDC business consultant Chelsea Goza, attendees will learn marketing strategies from Amy Thomas, owner of Thai-Me, and receive entrepreneurial guidance from Kirsten Blowers, owner of Riffraff. Suggestions for branding and distribution will also be offered from members of the Riffraff team.
A “Power Panel” will lead discussions during lunch and attendees can ask questions about common entrepreneurial and small business topics.
Angela Belford of The Belford Group will then discuss how to develop a successful mindset as a female entrepreneur. Lisa Massey, instructor of accounting at Henderson, will offer guidance on navigating today’s business environment as a female entrepreneur.
