Argo joins HSU as social media strategist
Jordan Argo has joined the marketing and communications team at Henderson State University as social media strategist. Argo will use Henderson’s social media channels to help enhance the university’s online presence and connect with its varied audiences.
Argo previously served as director of sports information at Hannibal-LaGrange University in Hannibal, Mo., where he was the primary contact for 15 varsity athletic programs and kept athletic social media updated. He also coordinated live video streaming of home events.
“I’m very excited to begin my journey at Henderson State and truly feel blessed to serve the university as its social media strategist,” Argo said. “As the popularity of social media continues to rise, so does the importance of using such platforms as marketing tools. Finding new and creative ways to reach all people affiliated with Henderson State through the use of social media is a welcome challenge.”
Argo is a 2008 graduate of Hannibal-LaGrange University with a degree in communications.
Developing a consistent message for external communications is an integral element of Henderson State’s strategic plan.
“As we continue to strengthen the university’s strategic, coordinated communications effort, social media will play a key role in helping tell the Henderson story, especially to prospective students,” said Tonya Oaks Smith, executive director of marketing and communications. “Jordan has the experience and enthusiasm to help us achieve our goals in this area, and we’re happy to have him join our team.”
