A three-generation homecoming connection

May 17, 2017 by Steve Fellers

A three-generation homecoming connection

Shae Rogers, a senior marketing major from Foreman, is a third generation student at Henderson State University.

This year, she is also a second generation homecoming queen candidate.

Her mother, Kristie Pyron Smith (’89), was on the homecoming court when she was a Henderson student. Smith’s father, Bob Pyron (’63), escorted her during the pregame ceremony.

Almost 30 years later, Pyron will escort his granddaughter during the pregame activities on Oct. 29.

“This will be a sentimental time in my family’s lives, and I am excited to share these memories,” Rogers said. “We are a third generation family of Reddies and will forever represent the Reddie Spirit.”
