Holiday marketing is all around us as we wrap up the year and Christmas quickly approaches. If you have not already participated in the “holiday cheer” there is still time to show off your products and services to your target audience.
As discussed in Last-Minute Marketing Tips for Small Businesses by Jake Braun, there are still some last minute things you can do to join the fun. Start out by adding a holiday theme to a previous sale that was successful. Replicate the successful sale but market it as a last-minute holiday sale. Work to market to your existing customers; word of mouth is one of the most powerful sources of marketing. As you take care of your customers make sure to gather their contact information to stay connected to them, collect information on how they found out about your store, and if they found what they needed. This will help you reach your target audience and improve their shopping experience.
You might be reading this and only have a week left until Christmas and think that you are out of time. Do not give up yet! According to the International Council of Shopping Centers, 80% of adults in the U.S. shop for gifts until the last week before Christmas, 33% wait until the Saturday before Christmas, and 25% shop on Christmas-Eve. Once the holiday buzz passes, take note of what was successful to plan ahead for the 2019 holiday season.
