In a global community, our careers are pursued at the speed of a wireless connection. While core curriculums are the foundation of Henderson State University’s academic programs, unique courses of study like aviation, women’s and gender studies, and digital art and design broaden the scope of knowledge students can pursue right here in Arkansas.
The academic programs we offer at Henderson State University are through five distinct colleges and schools, including:
Ellis College of Arts & Sciences
A goal at Henderson State University is to prepare our students for successful careers and fulfilling lives. Through the Ellis College of Arts & Sciences, students can aspire to a wide range of majors such as art, chemistry, math, music, English, nursing and so many more. The faculty structures the courses so students become well-rounded learners, seekers and individuals.
School of Business
Henderson State University has earned accreditation of its School of Business through the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International. It’s also one of the smallest universities to earn this accreditation, which speaks to just how much we value providing the most-up-to-date and accurate knowledge to our students, faculty and staff.
Teachers College
In 1890, Henderson State University began as a college to prepare teachers for careers in primary and secondary education. Since then, we have graduated some of the finest teachers and become one of the top education programs in this region. Teachers College also is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) for a number of undergraduate and graduate programs in education.
Honors College
Arête, which means highest excellence, is the motto of Henderson State University’s Honors College, and for good reason. Honors College empowers students to mature intellectually, emotionally, and physically. Honors College allows students to distinguish themselves throughout their academic career and, we are proud to say, aspire to be and are some of the most active and engaged individuals in our campus community.
Graduate School
With master’s programs in education, business, counseling, sports administration, and the liberal arts as well as an educational specialist degree program, Henderson State University’s Graduate School provides advanced learning opportunities for students who want a more in-depth knowledge of a particular subject.
